• supporting universities with the preparation of their Public & Community Engagement narrative for the Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF);
• supporting the preparation of impact case studies for the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2021;
• evaluating current support for public engagement;
• developing public engagement and outreach strategies;
• advising on training, reward and recognition, and culture change;
• planning and designing events and exhibitions for the public, young people and schools;
• advising on governance and partnership building for public engagement;
• supporting departments in applying for public engagement funding including mock interviews.

Her consultancy service acts as an external advisor to assess public engagement and impact capability, advises on public engagement and community programmes and strategies and draws on evidence to inform future investments.
ABOUT
Dr Kerry Leslie is a senior public engagement and impact professional specialising in working with academic researchers and the higher education sector. She worked for the research councils for over sixteen years and was the Head of Research Council UK’s Public Engagement with Research. Kerry’s PhD in Astrophysics was gained at University College London’s Mullard Space Science Laboratory.
